Mechanical recycling has been part of our company DNA for over 30 years and is at the heart of our paper and plastic packaging. We produce new, ecologically and economically sustainable products from waste. As the European market leader, this makes us a key player in shaping a living circular economy.
In our technology centres, packaging is proactively designed to be better and more sustainable in order to meet tomorrow's legal requirements today. Bold ideas from product development to quality management are developed and consistently implemented here. Continuous investment in all our sites enables the future-proof and efficient production of our packaging solutions.
As a globally active group of companies, we are both a local contact and a global partner. In addition to an international logistics network, we have a special focus on regional specialities and adapt our products to market-specific trends and requirements in a targeted manner. Our in-house production and decades of strong relationships with trading partners complement each other.
We are proud to be a family-run production company that thinks and acts for the long term. We not only develop customised packaging together, but also react individually to the needs of our team. We are united worldwide by a down-to-earth and personal environment in which flat hierarchies ensure fast, pragmatic decisions.
Openness to interests and talents gives our team worldwide development opportunities and diverse career opportunities outside of rigid job profiles. With personal responsibility and appreciation of individual strengths, everyone makes a visible contribution to the big picture.
As the largest employer in the region at our headquarters in Morbach, we are aware of our social responsibility. With the aim of strengthening our home region in the long term, we therefore focus our social commitment specifically on supporting local kindergartens and schools. At a global level, our production sites stand for sustainable economic growth.
Since its establishment in 1957 Papier-Mettler has shown constant dynamic growth. Hans Georg Mettler founded the family-owned company as a paper wholesaler and initially supplied his customers with paper products and 15 years later started paper bag manufacture. In 1971 Papier-Mettler extended the packaging range with the manufacture of plastic carrier bags. The product range has continued to expand to this day. The company’s values, being family-orientated, reliable with a down-to-earth approach have always been the key to our success.
We are fully aware that our employees are the key drivers to our success. Health and safety are our main priority and to ensure sustained economic success we continually invest in training and further education schemes for our employees.
We want our employees to enjoy working for us and to be in it for the long run! We aim to be a good employer and a reliable and down-to-earth enterprise.
Our social responsibility is important to us. Our criteria is to trade using ethical and social principles and only buy ethical products and services where possible. These have been outlined in our Code of Conduct. The legislation governs to respect fundamental human rights, employment rights and the environment.
As a packaging manufacturer we are fully aware of our responsibilities. The topic of sustainability is no passing fad for Papier-Mettler, but a conviction actively practised for decades. As an international, independent and owner-run company in Morbach, Germany we are only successful when our environmental and economic impact and social performance are in harmony.
